L/O: to identify the features on a magazine front cover to explore genre codes
MASTHEAD- The title of the magazine find this at the top of the from cover .
DATELINE- month and year of publication , often with the price . note that monthly magazines usually hits the news-stands the month before the cover date .
MAIN IMAGE- covering the whole magazine to make it interesting for the reader .
COVER LINES- usually found on the right side of the magazine to make it the reader be more interested for them to read on and give us a rough idea on that the magazine is about .
MAIN COVER LINES- found on the bottom left in bold writing over the main image to get people attention and so the reader would know some information .
BARCODE/ PRICE- on the back in one of the bottom corners is where the bar code would be and sometimes the price but the price is sometimes on the from of the magazine .
TAGLINE / STRAP LINE- short , sharp description of the titles main marketing point ( for q:'discover great music'. it sets out its editorial philosophy).
PULL QUOTE- a preview of a quote taken from the feature article inside . Acts as a sneak preview of the content .
