The Representation of "MEET THE SUPER-HUMANS" a positive but negative looking ad . They made it look negative by making it quite dark and quite straight faces although it shows that they are ready to compete and that they are ready to do there thing with whatever disabilities they have . They also make it better and become a icon to people younger then them who struggle with disabilities and show they can do what able can do and better .

they've given them all these props and they are trying to make it look like how you think that type of person would look like . so they've given a whole selection of nurses jobs but given loads of different props for it .

Representations in magazines
Direct address : looking directly at the camera so it looks like she is looking at the audience
-Cosmo-
- for a older audience because it says about cocktails o'clock so they must be the legal age to drink which is 18+
- telling people ways to get flatter abs and to still drop pounds
- relationship advice
- giving you advice on saving money
- aimed at girls because of the colour scheme because its stereotyped girly colours
- "less stress stay chill all season"
- for older then school teenage age group because it talks about "sex appeal
Carrie Underwood on the magazine is represented as
postive , confident , feminine , photo genic , and inspiration to some people , wealthy because it says she " saves money without $acrifice No FOMO" , bold , massive diamond rings on so must be successful
- 1a. cheerful , homeowner , family
- 2a. powerful , residential , confident
- 3a. happy , model , traditional

Representations in magazine's
Differences between Carrie Underwoods magazine and David Beckhams magazine-
- carried is aimed at females and davids is aimed at males
- carries reveals secrets about her confidence and David (in the magazine) reveals secrets about urban survival
- carries is talking about guys and relationship help during her magazine and David talks about football
- different picture takings one medium ( David Beckham ) and a long shot (Carrie underwood)
- different types of expensive rings
different representation in the genders
the idea about loyal family and marriage is key in these because they point out their engagement ring/wedding ring which proves they are loyal. they both have stuff on their covers that they think they would attract the pacific genders . they prove how they are both quite wealthy by their jewellery carrie talks about saving money and confidence and relationships but with David he's talking about fashion , football , how to behave in a office , secrets on urban survival and GQ .
They are both flashing off what kind of person they are , carrie is showing that she is a fitness and a role-modal for girls considering the outfit , her body shape , fitness adverts and taking about " snack so hard & still drop pounds " which could interest older girls in how to do it she also has a lot of floral flowers to point out femininity and the colour scheme . David was talking about football but considering he's a footballer their is no surprise but the outfit he was in was a tuxedo and that clearly shows his wealth although it makes him look like a wealthy business man and his colour scheme is aimed towards males .
- they used Tom Daley to try attract men i would expect but he's still attracting more women then men because of the outfit he is in .
- Rhianna isn't wearing anything so it would most likely attract men more then women because they are sexually attracted to it
- Tom is on about setting boundaries
- Rhianna is on about "NEW MAN" and over achieving
- puts both of them in front over the masthead
- Tom Daley is wearing "girly clothes"

-Exam style magazine questions-
L/O:to write and structure and effective exam style answer
In the cover of GQ represents genders quite differently but also a bit similar , They make Rhianna look quite ambitious and quite out there with what she has been encouraged to wear to make it more sexually appealing for men . They also show her tattoo's out that make her look quite manly . The way her makeup is done it makes it look like snake eyes to match her Medusa look since she has snakes on her head like and a massive snake around her neck it causes Rhianna to look quite snake like , so with this in the image it shows that she is a "snake" and that she's quite manipulating . It is showing of her body in a way to attract like in the GQ. Magazines its normally men and they normally are posing quite revealing positions and making things obvious . And the colours of it show quite masculine colours because they are using white , Black , Dark grey and light grey which are classed as masculine colours .
They are quite similar in both by similar age ratings for cosmopolitan with Tom Daley are sixteen in this because it mentions sex , porn , and sexual activity however for Carrie Underwood her target audience is aimed at over eighteen because it mentions cocktails ( alcoholic beverages ) , So it shows how in both cosmopolitan magazines are aimed at a more adult and however feminine audience . For the GQ magazine for starters it has David Beckham and he has been shown as a very masculine and highly proud to show of his marriage . However in Rhianna's GQ she is quite shown off with her body to attract a higher rate of masculine and male audience

I chose this cover because it shows how it is aimed at over 17-44 year old men mainly but they are trying to attract more openly towards sexualities by putting a well known 'gay' man . They also put him in a more revealing outfit where it can attract more men or people who are interested in the artist to buy the magazine . They clearing point out and mention about "man of the year " and also mentioning about fashion and other celebraties such as Tom Holland and Glannies Antetokounmpo in the cover , Gender is shown quite clearly and how it is aimed at a male audience and more open to sexualalities . his clothes are also a feminine type of outfit although they have also copied a second picture of himself in a all white suit with a black bow tie all coming to a price of £41,325 for everything he is wearing . The colour scheme doesn't really represent represent by using white black and grey .

In all the vogue magazines i have chose they all represent how they are aimed at women due to what they mention and having all females in feminine clothing and poses and they seem to be wearing high quality clothes in the Adele and Zendayia not Madona because she is in a bath wearing nothing ,They are showing that they advertising makeup and high quality everything like jewellery , makeup , fashion , shoes , style , brands . They have a magazine influencing fashion , women's lifestyle and Vogue places fashion in the context of culture and the world we live in .
In GQ they are shown as all quite masculine figures even Billie looks masculine in it but she is there to attract more females to buy the magazine . They influence fashion , males lifestyle , high quality . The brand identity for GQ is it relative .

CASE STUDY 1
-Raheem Sterling GQ-
L/O: to explore the context and cover star for case study 1
- How could we compare these two covers using information from the previous slides - We would be able to compare them as showing females as the more representing sexualities and sex subjects then men are and how men are sticking to the subject of fashion and survival type of scheme they also talk about his achievements however not Jennifers .
- How does GQ target this audience - by putting Jennifer Lopez in a more revealing clothes to attract more sexual attention to men , However with David Beckham is showing of how he is married and more attracting high intelligence men to read it who are clearly interested in Fashion and 'men of the year'
- How does GQ represent gender- GQ represents gender quite well and they do it by pointing out subjects that men with high intelligence and sense would be interested in , They tried to increase their sales by putting attractive sexualised women on the front talking about fashion relationships and how men are still the main part of it .

CASE STUDY 1
-Raheem Sterling GQ-
-Typography-
Typography is anything to do with fonts , style , size of text , colour , italics or bold , BLOCK CAPITALS or lower case
The choice of Typography have a different range of font sizes going from really bold and big to small and boxed , they have sans serif fonts all over and in block capitals , has one box with sans serif but used lower case instead of writing in all bold , I think they chose this style because of how he is posing in the background which shows him looking quite manly and bold so they might of chose the fonts to match the theme?
-Colour pallet-
black , white , dark grey . White on the all the text so that would make it the accent colour
-Z shape-
I think ours is the 'Z' SHAPE , They make it that way because we normally read left to right and top to bottom so they have it in a layout of which form we normally read in , However with the 'L' shape you read from top to bottom and across
-Anchorage Text-
with my magazine cover the text is "the dark heart of the facial surgery boom"

He's 28 , his market value is 17 million , currently plays for Chelsea , arrested in 2013 , he is known for his work with charity , he has a MBE , he is and english footballer who plays as a winger and attacking midfielder for premier league club Manchester city , born in Jamaica to Jamaican parents , moved to London at the age of 5 , the fifth youngest player to represent England when he played against Sweden in 2012 , in 2016 he was the most national most expensive player when he was bought by Manchester city , In December 2018 whilst playing against Chelsea .
during the football match he was getting a lot of racist acts towards him and other black players and he had enough so he had to speak up . They put 2 young footballers on magazines who bought houses for their mums and the way how racism was getting fuled was awful , they made it look like hes throwing away all his money however when the young white footballer did it is was all good and how kind of a person he was , racist comments during football can lead to serious issues due to back in 2018 Sterling had it so bad that he had to speak up even though he isn't the type to . Racism was so bad during this time that the other team was being racist directly towards him and others on the team . He had to laugh of his reaction because he didn't know how to react to all this racism .
We know that GQ is a mainly men intoriorated due to things they might be into such as football , fashion , wealth growth .

- black wings - the religious cononoligy shows he's an angle but still seen as a bad person because of his colour .
- how he is dressed - in all black but no top , they are covering the tattoo that has the deepest meaning for him .
- jewellery - shows his wealth
-EXAM QUESTION-
Explore how this front cover of GQ magazine uses media language to communicate meanings;
- images
- text/written language
- layout and designs
Also by using the cover line 'Speak no evil' would be possibly showing racism towards him due to him being called evil and rebellious due to the colour of his wings and skin colour , However Raheem Sterling is a Christian so the wings are a key feature to his religion , Although Raheem's position in football is a winger so the wings could also represent his place in his career . GQ have placed Raheem in a position that was taken below eye level to make him look powerful and that Raheem would be looking down to the audience . The term Guardian Angel , However how Raheem is shown in the cover could also be represent his way to show his religion . GQ has used the Gold cover in their logo to represent the company and Raheem's wealth , His jewellery is is also showing his wealth because of how bling they are and how big and bulky they are seen as . While looking at the shot they have taken of him you are able to tell it was a low long shot .

VOGUE
L/O ; to explore the context and cover star for case study 2
VOGUE is aimed at ABC1 fashion and style conscious women who are educated , sophisticated and wealthy . whilst it is traditionally targeted for older female audience of 30-45 years old , you could say that this audience has now broadened to inspire younger reader too , to appeal to advertisers , Vogue emphasises the wealth and status .
Vogue is a mainstream magazine , so it uses the typical codes and conversation of print to construct the front cover . over a long period of time , vogue has also acquired its own unique house style so that its brand identity is instantly recognisable . According the the Guardian newspaper , between the august 2002 edition of British vogue (with Naomi Campbell as the cover star) and 2014 , a period of 12 years , "146 covers have been shot , edited and distributed to newsstands and not one has feautured an individual black model "
Vogue's target audience is normally females however with males of the cover it could expand vogues target audience by putting a male singer or a male cover star on the cover it can bring in all age ranges who are also into fashion but more feminine clothing and style , Vogue will make a higher profit and will gain double the audience after putting harry styles on the cover as a man who is shown as gay and his sexuality in 1983 he claimed he was "closet heterosexual" having a male of a female magazine it is highly unusual .
Malala
- On 9 October 2012, a Taliban gunman shot Yousafzai as she rode home on a bus after taking an exam in Pakistan's Swat Valley. Yousafzai was 15 years old at the time. According to reports, a masked gunman shouted: "Which one of you is Malala? Speak up, otherwise I will shoot you all."
- At age eleven, Malala Yousafzai was already advocating for the rights of women and girls. As an outspoken proponent for girls' right to education, Yousafzai was often in danger because of her beliefs. However, even after being shot by the Taliban, she continued her activism and founded the Malala Fund with her father.

L/O: to explore the representations in case study 2
the takeaway about vogue has far more diversity across the board age , body size , colour , gender , sexuality and culture .
IDEAS
- how can we see diversity
- how could we describe the diversity shown
In the cover diversity is shown by the colours representing rebellious or her religion or the violence that has been done to her .
there is a range of diversity just on the cover let alone inside the magazine . her powerful look and her confident smile , she looks independent , but also looks intelligent and harmless ,
In terms of age its a very narrow interrogation , with gender and this cover she is shown as being female - females are normally often perceived as oppressed and self-surrogated
-often shows as terrorists
-gets harmed for wanting a education
muslim females are shown to like (on the cover) -fighting talk - love after lockdown - beauty - love and romance - the shape of now - women - public talks - strong - powerful - confident - the cover line are mainly stereotypical female topics - looks very feminine - classy & sophisticated - fighting talk , shows women being strong and being interested in male sports - not a victim but a surviver -
Describe - the technique/element/representation used .
Explain - the connotations/meanings constructed
Link. - to the overall context/meaning
In this cover diversity is often well shown by the ethnicity , it can shows very well her religion and how she is represented by it for example the head scarf around her head covering most her hair , however she has some of her hair out so the must mean Malala has less strict muslim parents because when you come across muslims they normally have the head scarf covering all of their hair , The vogue magazine doesn't Post many magazines showing females hijabs (head scarf)

- the have different angle shots
- the masthead is in front of Malala but behind Lizzo - maybe to show Malala intelligents and Lizzo body positivity
- they are both wearing the same colour - wearing red silk clothing items which represents wealth
- they are wearing feminine clothes - can show femininity
Wednesday , 29th of November 2023
DO NOW
- both have feminine to them like makeup and jewellery
- different camera shots - Malala has a mid shot that shows off her head scarf (silk) and Kim has a medium long shot which shows her belt and her pose and the jewellery .
- Malala has the shot mainly focusing on her shape which shows the story is about her However , Kim has a shot where it is mainly focusing on her body so it shows its all about what she looks like .
- Malala is talking about survival - Kim is talking about confident , self belief and makeup
The two magazine covers have very big differences where Kim is all about feeling confident and being self positive and Malala is talking about her survival journey .
With the similarity , they both have a very similar representation but shown differently for example they both show quite a bit of femininity like the jewellery that has been chosen in the poses , camera shots show the femininity for both covers like Malala has red lipstick which can give a stereotype that she is wealthy for example the silk in her scarf shows wealth , With Kim she has a shot type where it shows her outfit which can give a representative that she's very feminine and confident she also has make up on but very matte looking lipstick with very heavy looking eye makeup which can draw attention to the face because it is quite bold .
In the ELLE cover the colour pink has been used as a stereotypical feminine colour and the choice of camera shot can show high femininity , With Malala she has a deep but bright red which can show royalty or wealth but still very feminine because of the shot type , she has her hands facing and in a way pointing to her face which can draw the audience to her face more so the rest of her , With Kim her name is in bright pink which points out her femininity due to the cover she also has a medium long shot which shows more of her body and the pose off and where her hands are placed they can daw more attention to the body .
In the VOGUE colour representing Malala she talks about survival and her story , however with the ELLE cover representing Kim they talk about make up in multiple cover lines. . they show sexual objectification in it by the pose and what is being shown off by her body and the make up type , Malala is all about life story's and how hard she had to fight for her life and everything she has been through , Kim just seemed quite out there and trying to get people into makeup .
The shot type on both these women have different meanings such as Malala has a medium shot showing the upper half of her body and her face and her hands directing her face can show the audience that she's on about her and her story not about her body or anything stereotypical for a female , With Kim she has a medium long shot which shows her knees upwards . Kim is showing off her body type and revealing certain areas to try make her look more appealing to the audience and to get people to invest in makeup or fancy clothes .
In my opinion they are very different they both talk about very different topics but has very similar media language used to represent each magazine , they talk about completely different topics such as survival and self-confident .
